APRS Repeater Objects
You can see the location and status of the 2-m and 70-cm repeaters operated by MMARC and AARC at www.aprs.fi. They are posted by WJ3K as APRS objects. Cut and paste the following URL on one line in your browser.
http://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z=10&call=a%2F146.805MD%2Ca%2F147.105MD%2Ca%...
We also have an object for the Odenton Hamfest, with the "search callsign" of Hamfest. It will be taken down after the close of the event.
http://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z=11&call=a%2FHamfest&timerange=3600&tail=3600
The beacon reads
Hamfest *270321z3904.95N/07642.14WE146.805MHz C107 0730 Sat 30-Jan MMARC
That gives Place, Talk-in (Frequency, PL Tone, Split), Time, Date and Sponsor. The originating station WJ3K-10 is included near the beginning of the beacon, to keep it legal.
You can search the APRS-IS (APRS Internet System) using wildcards in the search string, [*] for any group of characters and [?] for any single character. [14*.*MD,44*.*MD] will bring up all 2-m and 70-cm repeater objects that end in MD. Some repeater objects do not yet follow that format for state identification, so those will be harder to select. One [*MD] repeater is located in California. It must be homesick.
For example, to see all objects for 2-m and 70-cm repeaters in the world that use this format you can search on [14?.*]
You will get a long list, You can place a check on the ones you want to place on the map. The returned list shows the time of the last beacon transmitted to APRSIS so you can select the active or recent objects.
