Meet the teacher director and producer of the AARC Video Classes.
Keith Miller (AE3D) has been licensed since the 1960s. He has been teaching classes at the Anne Arundel Radio Club for 10 years.
The Technician, General, and Amateur Extra licenses each expand your operating privileges and capabilities.
The Technician license is the entry level and gives you access to local VHF/UHF communication, repeaters, basic digital modes, and limited HF. It’s ideal for emergency communication, local club activities, and getting started with radios like handhelds and mobile units.
The General license opens the door to true long-distance HF communication on major worldwide bands, allowing you to talk across continents, join HF nets, and explore more advanced modes.
The Amateur Extra license grants access to all amateur radio frequencies, including exclusive sections of crowded HF bands that offer clearer contacts and better DX opportunities. gives you the ability to become a Volunteer Examiner to help others enter the hobby.
Each level expands what you can do and deepens your connection to the amateur radio world.
