Kit building

Kit building will start at the clubhouse on Sunday, February 28 at 1 PM. It will continue on subsequent Sunday afternoons as long as there is interest. Typically the kit building sessions last 2 or 3 hours and run for a month or two.

You can pretty much choose any kit you would like to build and this schedule gives you a few weeks to obtain it. You can also bring equipment for troubleshooting and repair. The builders are a great resource for that kind of thing.

Bill, W3LU will be this year's kit building coordinator. You can e-mail him at:

billkoch at zcloud.net (you put the @ sign in - this reduces spam)

More details will emerge as the kit builders trade e-mails about their kits and plans. Typical kits are QRP transmitters/receivers, test equipment, antennas, keyers, etc.

Kit Building

Bill recommends Ramsey Electronic kits as they have a wide variety of
kits, great prices, and they are quick to deliver.

He has built many of their kits, the instructions are easy to follow. They
don't need any special tools to build. He says, "the finished kits work and I use them
all the time."

Anyone can bring equipment that needs to be repaired or trouble-shooting to
be performed. We usually have no shortage of someone that wants to help or
offer suggestions.
