Club Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7:30 to 9PM at the clubhouse located at the Davidsonville Family Recreation Center in Davidsonville, MD

2nd and 4th Saturdays of the Month at 3PM - Club Station often OPEN
Also open on dates when specific contests are scheduled. Elmers are available to assist club members, especially new hams, in getting on the air and operating the club's HF station.

License Exams every 2nd Saturday of the Month - Check in at Noon, Exams at 1PM - At the clubhouse

YL Meeting every 3rd Sunday of the Month at 2:00pm

Kit-building, troubleshooting and repair 1 to 4 PM Every 4th Sunday at the clubhouse

RESULTS - August Exam Session

On Saturday, August 14th the AARC VE Team conducted it's monthly amateur radio exam session at the AARC clubhouse. We had 12 applicants show up including a blind applicant.

The following applicants earned an upgrade to their license or earned a new Technician license. In fact, everyone passed their exam on the first try. when you hear these hams on the air, don't forget to congratulate them on their accomplishment and wlecome the new hams to our hobby:

    Dye, Michael (KB3MIZ) - Upgraded to General

UPDATE - MDC QSO Party

The 2011 Maryland-DC QSO Party will be conducted 13-14 August 2011.

Thanks to those of you who participated in this year’s MDC QSO Party despite the terrible operating conditions on Saturday. According to the logs we’ve received so far, it looks like Sunday was the best day to be operating. I hope you had fun on Sunday.

AARC Field Day 2010 A Huge Success!

Greetings!

This is an initial report about Field Day 2010. As soon as the logs are recovered and the visitors and participant logs are available we will provide a more in-depth report. As usual, we will provide a detailed report on our Field Day at a future club meeting.

UPDATE - June License Exam Session

On Saturday, June 12th the AARC VE Team conducted it's monthly amateur radio exam session at the AARC clubhouse. For reasons not quite clear we had an unexpectedly high turnout of 17 applicants.

We administered a total of 21 exams.

    11 Technician (Element 2)
    10 General (Element 3)

As a result, 10 new hams (9 Technicians and 1 General) walked out of the clubhouse on Saturday as well as five Technicians who upgraded to General. When you hear the call signs listed below, be sure to congratulate them and welcome the new hams.
