Elmer Participants (You would like to help with the AARC Elmer Program)

We need a few good men and women to be an Elmer or Elmira.

As many of you already know, the term "Elmer" refers to "someone who helps new and would-be hams" but is really applicable to any ham who helps another ham no matter how long they've been licensed. The term "Elmer" has been around for less than 40 years. It first appeared in the March, 1971 issue of QST magazine's "How's DX" column by Rod Newkirk, W9BRD.

We want to create an Elmer Resource Data Base for the AARC. This data base would list hams who have volunteered to be an Elmer for the topics listed by their name. We will post that data base along with contact information so that new and old hams alike can find someone to go to for assistance and guidance.

Please indicate if you can participate as an Elmer for any of the subjects listed. Also indicate the "Type of Assistance" and if you can "Create" any required materials (e.g., Information Paper and Presentation).
