Louisiana QSO Party on February 9th
Please mark your calendar for February 9th!
Update: February 13th: Score Claimed Updated
The Louisiana QSO party is now in the books, and I would like to thank everyone that showed up. We ended up working 15 parishes, with a score of 750 points. Although finding Louisiana contacts proved to be a challenge at time, I think we can all agree that that we had a good day.
A total of 16 people showed up, some new hams making there first HF contact and even some individuals that are not licensed yet, but wanted to see what casual contesting and HF radio was all about.
We will keep you posted on next months event, although not confirmed as of yet, mark your calendar for March 16th or the 17th. We will be posting more information as we get closer to March. All are welcome as always.
73,
Steve

W3VPR will be participating in the Louisiana QSO party beginning at 3PM (Or after testing ends at the clubhouse) till 10PM.
This event is open to all hams or those that have an interest in ham radio. If you are a Tech or non-licensed and want to get on the HF bands we will have control ops on hand.
Currently the plan is to run possible three stations, 2 HF and 1 VHF. (On a side note, for those that want to see a really cool 6 meter portable setup I encourage you to stop by and see what will be there, I'm still waiting on confirmation that 6 meter station will be active) Since we are only looking for LA contacts we will be calling CQ looking specifically for Louisiana. This will make it slightly challanging but fun as we pratice are skills of calling CQ.
As always we are a casual contest group, winning is not our top priority, but to have fun and enjoy an evening of making contacts and enjoying ham radio. Please send me an email at k3bay@w3vpr.org if you have any questions or comments.
