Florida QSO Party This Saturday, Hope to see you at the clubhouse!

Update: Thanks to those that participated in this event. Out of the three events we have had this year, this event proved to be the hardest as band conditions were not favorable. The weather was also a factor for us, as the nice weather had many people outside enjoying the day. The turn out was light at the clubhouse with 9 people showing up. We ended up working 22 counties out of 67 available. It was decided to end the contest early as more than 2 hours had past without anyone else showing up. The radio's were turned off at 5PM.

Doug Strobel KB3HAM (SK)

It is with regret and sorrow that Doug Stroble KB3HAM has passed on. Doug was a regular on the .105 repeater for several years before heading off to Co. to continue his education. Below is the announcement posted from the Gazzette.net website.

Douglas Donald Strobel, 20, of Damascus and Denver, Colo., died suddenly in his sleep on Friday, less than a week after returning to college from winter break.

Born Nov. 18, 1988, he was the son of David Strobel of Mount Airy and Cynthia D. Strobel of Damascus.

Looking for a Couple hams to monitor the 147.075 Repeater This Thursday evening

Anne Arundel Radio Club was asked to give a demo to Den Pack 2 of Pack 412 in Pasadena this Thursday evening (the 22nd) at approx 7PM. Since this group is pretty young (most are 7 years old) we have developed a plan which will last approx 45-60 minutes. Our location is close enough that we will use HT's to access the 147.075 repeater. Part of our presentation is to allow the kids to make a contact or two. We are looking for a couple people that can help us with the contacts, If you are able to monitor the .075 machine on Thursday evening between 7-8PM please let me know.
